Purchased my HP Notebook in 2018. The hard drive died in only 6 months, fortunately that was covered under warranty (but paid $98 to copy my hard drive😞). In the last few days the case started making a cracking sound at the hinge corners, and now the hinges are broken and the case is cracked behind the hinge area. Out of warranty, but only 2 1/2 years old. Currently being held together with duct tape and a support behind the case lid So disappointed, will probably not buy another HP. I see that several others have posted about hinge problems, why hasn't HP addressed this problem?

I also have an HP laptop that is less than a year old and the hinge has broken. Would this still be under warranty? I have to say based on what others have written, I am also not impressed with the build quality. What is HP doing to fix these issues?
My laptop is an HP Pavilion - 14-ce0525sa. What other information do you require?

Hi@Joanne09,bva72,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!

How can my laptop already be out of warranty when I haven't even had it for 12 months? The link to "Contact Us" does not lead to any relevant solutions to my issue. Who can I talk to to get this issue fixed?

I have the same problem!
My computer is 4 years old, and out of warranty.
The hinges are broken, I can't close the laptop anymore.
If it moves a little bit, I can see the screen trying to "separate" in two.
It's really annoying!!
Thank you in advance for all the help you could provide me.

Does anyone from HP Support plan on replying to my message....the customer service is poor! I want to speak to a human, not some virtual agent who has no answers for me. Such poor product quality!!!
