HP EliteBook 830 G5 Notebook

HP EliteBook 830 G5 Notebook (Product: 4QB11EC) not showing built-in camera in device manager after freshly installed Windows 11 Pro for Workstations Version: 22H2 (22621.3296). I've looking for the camera in Device Manager and I could not find it in the listed device. I've updated my windows and updated latest BIOS version from HP. Found and tried all possible solution on HP and Windows Community portals (ref. link mentioned below) but still no luck 😣.

However, My camera was worked fine on Windows 10, please guide me to resolve this issue.

Have you installed the HP Universal Camera driver

Thanks for your prompt response, unfortunately the issue belongs to "Camera not showing in Device Manager".  However, I installed your suggested driver still no luck, the issue is within the specific device

1 - Look at the keyboard function keys for a camera icon such as

if you see anything like that the press it and see if the camera starts working. It could also be a physical device such as a switch or a cover that closes over the lens. I do not have your particular system so am guessing.


2 - Try a repair of windows system files. From the administrator command command prompt enter as explained below


sfc /scannow



How to use SFC or DISM to repair Windows

just do the SFC. If you see a message that corrupted files were fixed then reboot. The only time to do the DISM is if the SFC reports it found problems but cannot repair it.

I see that according to the user manual there isn't a switch for the webcam 

 

Here is the WHQL driver list for Windows 11  (Windows Hardware Qualified List drivers)

Search for  webcam drivers and try them one at a time. Look for Chicony, etc. Trying the driver will not hurt your laptop or operating system. 

 

If you are unable to find one that works it will the end of the line for now.

A workaround is to buy a webcam for your laptop that will sit at the top of the screen and plug into a USB port.
