I installed new crucial m.2 nvme 500gb ssd to my 15-bs192od laptop. After installing ssd i started laptop... Laptop was not booting up and smells like burning plastic. Immediate i shut down and checked sticker on ssd was melted.
I removed SSD and started only with existing HDD and booting up normally. Ssd socket on board also smell burnt. No visible damage on board.
Please help! Should i try again installing ssd? Will i damage my laptop?

An M.2 sata ssd should work-as long as you didn't damage the port.
Not really sure how you will test for damage to the NVME other than install it into a laptop that supports it. Or buy a NVME to USB adapter and plug it into usb port to check it.

Your laptop has an M.2 SATA-3 slot. No support for NVME SSD. Check the Maintenance and Service Guide:
