Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook:

c02439213.pdf (hp.com)

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info.

The notebook has two memory slots and can support 2 x 4 GB of memory that will run at 1066 MHz.

It is difficult to find the right kind of memory for your notebook.

You have to buy 4 GB DDR3-10600 (1333 MHz) memory chips that will automatically bridge to 1066 MHz, 1.5V, 2Rx8 (8 little black memory chips on both sides of the circuit board.

Something like this might work:

Timetec Hynix IC 8GB KIT (2x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz PC3-10600 Non ECC Unbuffered 1.5V CL9 2Rx8 Dual Rank 2...

Chapter 4 has the memory removal and replacement procedure.

You can review that and decide if it is easy for you to do.

Thanks! The link to the manual was very helpful. Btw, the manual only mentions RAM module sizes of 1 GB, 2GB and 4GB; not 8GB. So, I'm not sure that 2x8GB would work. Anyway, I ordered 2x4GB.

You're very welcome.

Sorry,  my mistake.

Definitely only 2 x 4GB

I corrected my previous post.
