Pavilion dv6
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook Model XG247AV with Windows 7 64 bit.

I need to replace the CMOS battery. Where can I find a replacement?

I got bold and opened up the back of my laptop and discovered that the CMOS battery is a Lithium CR2032. For $7.55 I solved my own problem.

I had E-mailed texted Micro Center in North Atlanta and never got a response. I had a 2 p.m. appointment with Best Buy to take it in for them to look at. They called a few hours earlier and said' they didn't carry the battery I needed.

You can also take out the old one and open the yellow wrapper and figure out what battery its using. You can get one at the CVS. Remove and reapply the leads to the new battery, wrap it in black electrical tape and you have a CMOS battery. Good luck.
