CMOS Reset (502)

I replaced it with a new battery and upgrade to SSD PCie Gen3 M.2 512GB

Unable to boot when not connected to the power plug. Display message CMOS Reset (502)

When connected to the power plug, the laptop runs well.

It is a best practice when performing upgrades to a PC or laptop to only do one at a time.

 

Reset the embedded controller as described in the HP document at the link below. That may jog the firmware into action.

The CMOS Reset (502) error means that the BIOS is corrupt.

With the power adapter connected try restoring the BIOS  will effectively reset the CMOS.
