Hi, 

 

I have the exact same laptop but am interested in upgrading to the Intel® Core™ i7-3720QM Processor.  Its selling on ebay for a lower price than the 3632QM.  the voltage on ths 3720 is 45W.  If I proceed with the 3720qM, do I have to upgrade my power supply?  Also how is the performance on the 3632QM for you? 

 

Have you also upgraded the display?  I also saw on the maintenance manual that our motherboards mght support FHD.

Hello,

 

If you want to upgrade to i7-3720QM, you should replace the mainboard as well as the power adapter this is because the TDP for i7-3720QM since the mainboard is designed to suppoer 35 W TDP CPU's. You have two options only i7-3612QM and i7-3632QM.

 

Regarding the performance. The overall performance by 1.7 more than i5-3230m.

 

This laptop supports FHD screen as well as FHD touch screens.
