Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Replacing processors in a laptop is a HUGE amount of work, as they are soldered to the system board and you have to disassemble the entire laptop to get at that board.  And, this is not a consumer item, so you would have to got to HP to see if the replacement board was even available.

Here is the Service and Maintenance Guide so you can see the processors the laptop supports: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04409502

IF you decide you want to have this done, I strongly suggest you have a qualified laptop repair facility do this -- and be prepared to spend a LOT of money, as a lot of work and labor is involved.

Basically, it probably would be cheaper to buy a new laptop, than to upgrade this one.
