Hello friendly HP folk.

I've got the above mentioned laptop. Does it have a soldered in CPU? Is an upgrade going to be an option here at all?

How about external GPU through USB3.0? Anyone had success setting that up?

I'm tyring to get a system to run an Oculus Rift. Just considering the options.... may need a whole new system.

Yes the processor is soldered and USB 3.0 would never be able to carry enough bandwidth to drive an Oculus Rift. Yes you definitely need a different system for that. There is no Thunderbolt port on the laptop which could theoretically drive an eGPU.

Thanks Provost. Appreciate the prompt response. Also greatly appreciate the manual. Many thanks.

Just as I suspected. Thanks for the confirmation. Time to put an adequate rack mounted desktop system together.
