Hey guys, I have an old laptop, HP probook 4730s with an intel I3 2330M CPU, i've updated to the latest bios F.65, and was wondering if the latest Microcode update includes Compatibility with the 3rd gen I7 CPUs, 3630QM or 3632QM. Rigth now the manual is old and only states it supports up to 2nd gen i7 2670QM
is there any way anyone can help me?

Hello @inafaracutiei,
Unfortunately, laptop CPU upgrades are limited to the options specified in the Maintenance and Service Guide.
Furthermore, the sockets seem to be physically different meaning that some of the upgrades will require motherboard upgrades which may be a bit costly.
Hope this helps,
Eddy

Hey EddyK,
You wore right, i've managed over the week to get my hand on 3 CPU's , one 2630qm, 2670qm, and 3630qm.
My older CPU was a i3-2330M 35W
With the latest BIOS update F.65 for this HP 167c HM65 motherboard. Only the 2630qm booted. The rest have black screen only the cooler running.
-Still can't figure out why 2670qm did not boot, it is the same socket, Wattage and generation as 2630qm. There is only a minor performance difference between the two so , does not matter anyway.
