Let me start off by saying I have been extremely happy with my CQ61-402sa but it is now running very slowly, if not freezing completely when I do multiple tasks
- using skype, webdocs open and web browsing - using all this at once is necessary for what I'm using the computer for at this time.
I posted yesterday to find out how much RAM the computer would support - this would be 8gb RAM - I currently have 2gb (thought it was 4gb but I was mistaken). Went to buy 2x4gb extra RAM and this is going to cost about £120.
1 - So my question to the community is this - basically is it worth it?
Will upgrading the RAM make such a big difference to my being able to perform the multiple tasks above?
2 - Is there anything else I can do to improve the running performance of the computer? I regularly do a cleanup (dumping unneccesary files, disk optimisation)
Many thanks in advance
Kind regards
Maria

Hi,
In short, I would say it is not worth it. You can probably find a much more powerfull computer for 120£ (used or refurbished) or a little more depending on the specs you want.
Your PC is quite old with Celeron processor and DDR2 RAM.
What you could do for about 10-15£ (online) is add another stick of 2GB to the PC for a total of 4GB which would already double the amount.
Hope it helps,
David
