Hi Community, I want to change or upgrade processor of my HP Notebook -15-ay085tu.
Reason for change/upgrade of processor: My processor isn't currently supported for window 11.
My processor is Intel Pentium CPU N3710 @ 1.60GHz.
And also one more question, Can I upgrade/change motherboard of this laptop?
Is it possible and suggest any details regarding this?
Thanks and Regards,
Ram

Hi:
The processor cannot be upgraded unless you replace the motherboard.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
Chapter 3 has the list of supported motherboards.
Changing a motherboard is difficult (assuming you can find the one you want), and you also have to buy one that comes with a Windows product key in the BIOS.
Since your notebook has no fan, you will need a fan and new heat sink as well.
You will be looking at a several hundred (USD) project, and it would probably be better to sell your notebook and buy a new one with a better processor.
You can install W11 on your notebook as is.
If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.
You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
