Hello,

I am currently using a 1TB HDD in my HP Notebook but it is slow, I want to add an SSD to my laptop for fast booting but I want to keep my HDD for data storage. Is it possible to keep my HDD along with SSD? and which SSD is recommended for my above-mentioned model.

PS: there is no optical drive in this model.

Thanks in advance.

You're very welcome.

Please excuse my poor drawing ability...I have outlined where the SSD goes.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC

Chapter 1 has the supported drive types.

According to chapter 1, your notebook can support a NVMe SSD and a 2.5" drive at the same time, but you will need to remove Windows from the 2.5" drive.

Notebooks that come from HP with dual drive configurations have no operating system on the 2.5" drive.
