Pavilion QC329PA#ABG
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Currently has 4 RAM but looks like it has no spare slots

I purchased 4 GB of RAM to add to my HP Pavilion dv6 QC329PA#ABG

When I opened up the back I found the RAM that was already installed in there but no extra slot to insert the new RAM

If I want to upgrade to 8 GB of RAM would I have to remove the 4 GB of existing RAM and replace it with a new 8 GB RAM that fits into the same slot ?

Or is there a way to add the addition 4 GB RAM that I have already purchased ?

Your machine is an HP PAVILION DV6-6136TX. I can't find its specs, only

     https://www.graysonline.com/auctionproduct/hpqc329pa-180818472/computers-and-it-equipment/new-hp-pav...

which says  it has

  • Standard Memory: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 (1 x 4 GB)
  • Maximum Memory: Upgradeable to 8 GB DDR3

Therefore you can add 4GB more to slot 2.

Regards.

Thanks Banhien.  I will open up my laptop and see if I can find a second slot for RAM.

I found the second slot under the first one and inserted the new ram and reinserted the old ram.  Now I have 8 GB of ram instead of 4 GB.  Thank you very much Banhien !!!!!
