HP Notebook - 15 - db0043na, model number is 4FJ77EA

RAM 4GB, Available physical memory 1.17GB...

Can I add more memory to my laptop? How? Which make would you recommend?

Thank you

You're very welcome.

The "Memory is non-customer accessible/non-upgradeable," statement means that HP doesn't want the customers doing the upgrades themselves, but by an authorized service center.

If you look a chapter 6 of the service manual, there is a procedure to remove and replace the memory module.

Hi:

Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook.

https://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-15-db0043na

It has one memory slot, so you would have to remove the current 4 GB chip and install an 8 GB chip.

Below is the link to the service manual...

Thank you Paul. This is very helpful.

what I find confusing though is that on page two there are two, what seems to me, contradictory statements

"Memory is non-customer accessible/non-upgradeable"

"Supports up to 8 GB of system RAM in the following configurations"
