Hello,
I am a student in Portugal. Recently my university gave me a laptop for my study degree. Its model written on the box is ´HP Laptop 15s-fq2006np´, on the other hand HP assistant tell me the model is ´HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000´.
For my whole life i used the English keyboard, but this laptop came with a Portuguese keyboard. Which is very difficult to use for myself. Can any body tell me if I can change its keyboard physically from Portuguese to English. If possible where can I get original replacement part?
Thank you so much.

The top cover would be $150-250 US. The labor to change it out would be a couple hundred dollars. You would come out better selling your laptop and replacing it with one having the keyboard you want. We also can walk you through the process of changing out the top cover but it requires completely taking the laptop apart including removal of the motherboard.

Not in any easy way. On laptops made in about the last 5 years, the keyboard is embedded in the top cover and is not a separatly replaceable item. The top cover part is expensive and replacement is a very big job. You can change keyboard language in the OS:

Hey Huffer,
Thank you so much for the kind reply. I understand what you are saying, and you are saying right. I was not going to purchase laptop with this keyboard. But as I get it as my education package, are there any guides available for changing top cover? Can HP service can do that for me?
If yes please tell me how to contact HP service? and also approximate charges for changing the top cover.
Thanks once again for your previous reply and I hope you will reply me once more 🙂

Dear Huffer,
Thank you so much for the insight. I think it is not a better option to spend so much on this laptop.
Although if you can tell me from where can I get the top cover, just in case, that would be of help.
Thank you.

Here is one from eBay usa:
Not sure they would ship this to Portugal or if this is your color. See p. 61 of the Manual here and let me know which color you need so I can get the right Part No.

Dear Huffer,
I am once again thankful to you for getting back to me.
After looking at the page 61 of the said manual, my laptop/ keyboard color is NATURAL SILVER.
Also, keyboard on my laptop is not backlit. If I can upgrade to backlit without hassle of installation of extra cable please give me a link for natural silver backlit, if conversion from non-backlit to backlit is not possible, simply give a link for non-backlit natural silver one.
Thank you so much. You helped me a lot.

Yes you can upgrade to backlit and might as well if you are going to do this. A little more benefit for the expense and upgrading to backlit is usually why people have this question. That cover I linked you will work. With shipping you are likely to be close the price I estimated and the instructions are in the Manual. Good luck.
