Hi, I wanted to know if I can charge my laptop through one of the usb c ports. I tried looking for other threads on the topic and I saw some people with laptops that have similar spec usb-c ports as mine but I wanted to confirm whether or not I can charge it via usb c, and if so what spec usb c cable I would need. Thank you!

Hi sidalok1.
As I've been informed by the more seasoned EXPERTS here on the HP community, the only way to know for sure that a laptop can be charged with a USB-C charger is if it is actually offered such a charger (by HP). If you take a look at the manual for your system, you notice that only barrel-plug power adapters are available. Furthermore, when the HP Envy 15-ep0000 series was reviewed, they discovered that the Thunderbolt ports (although they support USB-PD) couldn't charge the device: "Unfortunately, the system cannot be recharged via USB-C. There are a handful of adjustments we would like to see to make the Envy 15 better. USB-C charging support would be extremely useful for travelers as the large 200 W AC adapter can then stay home when it's not needed."
Users here on the HP boards have also reported that they couldn't get it to charge through USB-C:
Personally, I think that pursuing this any further will probably be a waste of time (and money if you buy any chargers)......
