Can I increase the RAM on my particular laptop and how do I do this?

Is it possible to increase the RAM on my laptop and if so, can I do it myself? I currently have 16GB of RAM. Thank you.

It comes with 16 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (onboard) memory.

'Onboard' means the memory is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be removed or upgraded.

Many thanks for your help. It's a shame I can't do it as a program I want to use has an absolute requirement for 16GB and preferably more. I'll just see how it goes. Many thanks.

The Crucial memory report also indicates the memory is non-removable.

There is one inconsistency however...

The service manual has a procedure to remove and replace the memory.

Note that this manual is for the slightly older models in the series that have the Intel 8th generation core processors.

Chapter 1 indicates that there are two memory slots.

Chapter 5, pp 33-34 has the procedure to remove and replace the memory.

So, I don't know what to tell you unless you are willing to do some exploratory surgery before buying 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2666 memory to see if the memory can actually be removed and replaced.

If it can this would be a compatible 16 GB memory chip.
