I looked online and it says that the HP Spectre is capable of reading sd cards but i can't find any info on where to put it nor can i find any slot for it on my laptop.

Looks like this series does NOT have a card reader slot therefore option: USB card reader:
https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/c/technology/hard-drives-data-storage/card-readers
There are many cheaper around. I bought 10 of them with 3 dollars each at BestBuy another day. I also bought one at 51 dollars. They work the same, the more expensive one accepts 15 different cards.

What is your Spectre ? Normally it has SD slot or microSD slot. I need to know what is your Spectre. Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:

I'm surprised my 13-ac065tu doesn't have a card reader neither. It's a top spec'd model (bar the 4k screen, which I didn't want anyways due to the battery performance). Does HP Australia not take in the SD card reader models???
