Hello am I able to upgrade the processor in my laptop?

And if so to what?

IE. How do I know which processor will fit/work?

I found a service guide  it lists processors as a replacable part ( but I am not 100% its the correct one)

Hi,

Yes that is the correct service manual. Your PC HP Pavilion 17-e187nr supports the AMD processors listed on page 85 of service manual. As you can see you already have the most powerfull processor available, so an upgrade will not be possible.

Hope it helps,

David
