I have hp 240 g5 notebook pc which has 4gb RAM.
So I want to know how it can be upgraded to 8gb RAM.

You have a single memory slot and it is using DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM. You can replace the 4 gb module with an 8 gb module:

Yes. But the 240 G5 comes with several different processor options and what kind of memory it needs depends on the processor. But even the lowest end machine can accept a single 8 gb module.

If its a 6th gen platform Pentium it has one slot and if its 7th it has two. In either case it is DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM.
