OMEN by HP Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Can I ask you if it is possible to switch grafic card for my laptop? I have below spec:

OMEN by HP Laptop

Windows 10 Home 64 18363.778

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz

Ram 16GB

Motherboard 8257 82.27

Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M

I would like to switch this one with the new series (GTX 1650 or 1660) If it is possible and reasonable for my setup.

I dont know if the rest of the notebook will be catching up with the card if replacement will be possible.

Thank you for reply

Hi:

The graphics adapter is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded by itself.

You would have to replace the motherboard with one that is listed in your notebook's service manual that may come with better graphics.

It would probably cost as much as buying a new notebook with better graphics already included.

Thank you for reply,

I though that it will not be that easy as plug in new graphic card.

Really thanks i needed confirmation from PRO

You're very welcome.

To the best of my knowledge, only the very expensive business-class mobile workstation notebook PC's have removable graphics cards.
