Hi everyone,

I own an OMEN by HP Laptop 17-ck1098ng (product number: 72X87EA) which currently has 32GB of DDR5-4800 RAM installed (2×16GB modules).

I’d like to know if it’s possible to upgrade the memory to 64GB (2×32GB) or even higher.
I’ve seen conflicting information online — some sources list 32GB as the maximum supported capacity, while others mention 64GB or even 96GB.

Could someone from HP or another user confirm:

  • What is the maximum supported RAM capacity for this specific model (17-ck1098ng)?

  • Are 2×32GB DDR5-4800 SODIMM modules fully compatible?

Thanks in advance for your help!

@voicemachine,

HP specs for 17-ck1000 series indicate that max RAM capacity supported is 32 GB (2x16 GB).

Crucial reports your model supports 64 GB (2x32 GB).

Click the link below for how to run the wmic command to find the max RAM capacity your system can handle. If it reports 64 GB, your model likely supports 2x32 GB.

Hi!

The wmic command for these systems will report back a 64GB value: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-OMEN-17-ck1005nq-upgrade/td.... The Munich-based CompuRAM, manufacturer and seller of memory modules offers a 2x48GB kit with assured compatibility for this series. The Intel 12900HX cpu officially supports up to 128Gbs of RAM. Other than the somewhat scary (for novice users) "RAM training" when upgrading the memory on the DDR5 models, these systems can handle anything one is willing to throw at them.
