Hi,
I currently have an M.2 SATA SSD on this current model
I bought a new Samsung 970 EVO 500GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD so that I could upgrade the storage on HP OMEN Notebook - 15-5110ca, as I used up all the storage.
Is it possible to upgrade to the new M.2 NVMe from M.2 SATA for this model of the laptop?
Hoping to get an answer soon so that if it is not compatible, then I will have to return the NVMe back to the store and get the one that is supported for this laptop model.
Thanks guys!

Unfortunately the answer is no.
The compatible M.2 SSD product is as follows.

Hang on...those specs tend to indicate a PCIE/NVME M.2 WILL work. However, I am familiar with the 15-5xxx series. It was my Expert loaner a few years back and I wanted to do the same upgrade. However, in order to get the access panel off it is necessary to trash the rubber gasket/rubber foot strip that goes around the rectangular access panel on the bottom. I was never able to find a replacement and have looked a couple times for other Forum users over the years and also come up short so that is kind of a deal stopper.
If you order the M.2 disk from HP supposedly a replacement rubber gasket comes with it. Given the age of this laptop it is likely HP would provide a Samsung PM951 as the PCIe M.2 if you ordered it from HP and it would be very pricey like over $300. I am skeptical something as new and advanced as the Samsung 970 will be compatible even if you can solve the other issues I mention.

Would the HP EX900 512GB M.2 PCie 3.1 3D TLC work for my current laptop?
