HP Pavilion dv7-6c27cl
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My laptop is quite old and is running slow. I've had to replace the hard drive but it still has "lagging" issues. My memory test came back fine. I was thinking of increasing it from 8 to 16 or even higher if that'll help. Every test I've ran to see if there's something wrong, comes back passed.- even on a third party diag tool at the shop I work at. What options, if any, can I take to increase it's perfomance?

Good.

Then you can do the memory upgrade.

If you only have 8 GB of memory installed, 16 GB should help a bit.

Do you have a way to clean install W7?

That would probably help a lot.

Hi:

You can max out the memory at 2 x 8 GB for a total of 16 GB.

Below is the link to the service manual.  The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.

You can replace the mechanical hard drive with a solid state drive as well.

A solid state drive provides much better drive performance and reliability over a mechanical one.

I have the resources minus the time. Guess I will be weighing my options.
