I would like to upgrade the CPU in my G72 HP . It now has a core I3-M330 and a discrete GPU ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430 . I would like to upgrade to the Core i7–620M or maybe a better option if it's this possible.. Any recommendation!!

After i did some research i found that the Core i7 640m has a better boost clock speed up to 3.46Ghz.. will I encounter any problems with power requirements, cooling?
Thank you

No HP designed the motherboard to handle that processor. The first gen Arrandale Intel Core CPUs particularly the i7s have a reputation for running hot but that is not because of any problem, just the way they are.

So i'll go with the i7-640m.. thank you very much

Can switch from 595183-001 motherboard (ATI Mobility Radeon HD5430 / 512M) to 615580-001 motherborad (ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470 / 512M) which have a better GPU !
