HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0192tx

Hi,

I am seeking advice.

I have

Graphic device 1  NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050

Version 30.0.15.1278 (5/5/2022)

Graphic device 2 Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

and I was thinking it would be good to upgrade - if that is even possible.

I noticed this from Intel

Intel® 6th-10th Gen Processor Graphics - Windows 12/29/2022

and thought about downloading it and hoping it would be an upgrade.

What do people think?  Is it a good idea?  Is it an improvement.  Should I do something else instead?

All thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

Hi:

Unfortunately, you can't update the Intel graphics adapter driver.

My understanding is that when you do, it causes the Nvidia graphics adapter to quit working.

I wrote a knowledge base article about upgrading the Intel graphics driver and if you read one of the comments below my article the guy indicated, yes, the driver update worked fine but 'broke' the switchable graphics function.

So, my advice would be not to do it.

Thank you Paul.  I appreciate you succinct and helpful reply.  I will take you advice and leave it as is then.  I will keep playing the old games for a bit longer then 🙂

You're very welcome.

I was disappointed when the person provided that feedback, but it was definitely important to know.
