Hi:
You can but every time you shut down the notebook it will lose the system BIOS and clock settings because the notebook's main battery also serves as the CMOS/RTC battery.
You will get a CMOS 502 error upon starting the notebook and you will have to set the time and date each time that happens.

Hello , thanks for your reply .
If you don't mind I want to ask some questions concerning what you said .
1- does that mean that the computer will boot up normally but the time will be wrong ?
2 - Can this have any bad effects on the system and the hardware ?
3 - I have enabled virtulization in the bios settings , does that mean I have to enable them everytime ?

You're very welcome.
The computer will not boot up normally.
First you will get a CMOS 502 error and you will have to restart the PC and set the time and date.
Then save the settings, restart the notebook and then it should boot up normally and run fine until you turn it off.
As far as bad effects, that I do not know.
I would imagine having to constantly fiddle with the BIOS and restarting the PC may put a strain on the components if you plan on doing this for a long time.
If running the notebook without a battery is essential, then you don't have much to lose by trying it.
The other thing you can do would be to replace the battery.
Below is the link to the service manual:
Chapter 3 has the battery part number and description.
Battery (includes Mylar and sponge)
4 cell HP part # 917724-856
3 cell HP part # L08855-856

You're very welcome.
I am almost certain that you will.
With no battery to maintain the system clock and BIOS settings, the BIOS will be set to its defaults, so you will have to go in and change any settings you made from the default settings to the ones you want.
