I have m.2 slot in my laptop. M2x3 is written on that slot.

Can i use Samsung 970 Evo M.2 NVMe SSD as boot drive in my laptop ?

No. SATA M.2 only and possibly not even that. 

 

Here is the Service manual:

 

Manual

 

Open it up and you see this:

 

red circle = M.2 slotred circle = M.2 slot

 

Open it up before you make any purchase of upgrade parts. In some cases this slot was not actually soldered onto the motherboard at the factory.

But Sir , SATA M.2 have 2 (M+B key) notch and slot on my motherboard is single notch type(M key).

Will SATA M.2 SSD Fit Physically in that slot ?

 

As per the Service Manual Max. Speed is 535MB/s,which is the Speed of SATA M.2,so if I use use M.2 NVMe drive then what happen ?
