Pavilion notebook 15-au043ca

Hello,

Yesterday evening, my hard drive encountered issues, and I saw that the Short (and Long) DST(s) had failed

There is currently no operating system installed, as I had wiped the hard drive partitions after encountering errors (no documents needed saving, and I have a Windows 10 installation booted onto a USB stick).

I figure, the hard drive needs replacing, and I would like to find out whether I can upgrade to an SSD, and, if so, is there any specific type of SSD that should be used?

The product number is W7D90UA#ABL

If an SSD cannot be installed, which type of HDD should be used on this device?

Thank you.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to upgrade the hard drive on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I checked the specifications of your computer and see that your computer does have an M.2 slot and you can install an SSD on the computer.

Refer to the below service guide (Page 34) for the SSD part number and installation instructions.

I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!
