I have HP Notebook BS-112tx with Intel Core i5-8250U, it comes with 4 GB DDR 2400 mhz Samsung RAM. I want to upgrade it to atleast another 4 GB or 8 GB.
Second slot is free but I am unable to find 2400 mhz rams. I found Transcend 8GB DDR4 2666 MHz JM2666HSB-8G 260-pin SO-DIMM.
Can I put this Transcend 2666 MHz ram along with 2400 factory installed ram. Can they work together without crashing. I understand it will be clocked down to 2400 MHz. Just want to make sure they will work together.

Hello
I advise you to look for the exact same module!
Indeed if the motherboard allows it the pc could work on the lowest frequency!
But there may be incompatibility either with the motherboard or between the two modules
I have not looked at but if the motherboard allows this frequency you can take the risk, if it does not work with both, but the new one works alone, you will have to buy the same

Yes this is the model with 8th gen intel core i5. So the service manual is saying we need to use 2400 mhz only right?
Can't it work with 2666 mhz by degrading the speed to 2400 mhz?
The 2400 mhz modules are not available difficult to find. All new modules are coming in this speed 2666
