Can i use both sata ssd and M.2 ssd on hp pavillion 15-cs0053cl at the same time as dual storage and what are the storage size limits?

If your notebook came with Windows preinstalled, the Windows product key is stored in the BIOS.

 

When you install Windows on a new storage drive and connect to the internet, Windows will be automatically activated.

According to your service manual (on page 2), your Intel i5 8th gen processor-based model supports the dual storage configuration (2.5" SATA drive + M.2 NVMe SSD).

You can install an M.2 NVMe SSD of your preferred capacity, 512 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB or more.

Does it matter which brand of M.2 ssd I use does the speed of the ssd read write matter?

You can use any reputable M.2 NVMe SSDs, i.e. Samsung, Western Digital, Crucial. . .

 

Your M.2 slot is gen 3. If you install an NVMe gen 4 SSD, it'll run at gen3 read/write speeds,

 

It's better to get a faster NVMe rather than a slower one. Here're a couple of good ones.
