@aguler,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Yes, you can upgrade the M.2 NVMe SSD in your HP Victus 16-e0053ur to any capacity -you are only limited by your budget. You can also upgrade your RAM up to 2 x 16GB of DDR4 PC4-25600, 3200 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, SODIMM, 260-pin RAM sticks.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

Hi, @aguler

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info and the storage capacity of the NVMe SSD's HP offered in the model series.

Your notebook can support 2 x 16 GB of DDR5 memory and HP offered drives up to 1 TB in the model series.

Most likely a 2 TB drive will work, but no one here will be able to confirm that unless by some luck someone on this forum has the same model series and installed a 2 TB drive.

You may also want to know that the notebook has support for two NVMe SSD's and you can see the illustration of where the two drive positions are located in chapter 5, page 34 of the manual.

Hi!

They're already being sold fitted with 64GB DDR5 RAM and 2/4TB SSDs, so that's pretty much the tested limit (for now). Will probably see even larger SSDs later on, like 2x8TB, but this is still a new (Raptor Lake) model.

I really don't know what HP is talking about in this model's RAM section on its spec sheet: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/victus-by-hp-16.1-inch-gaming-laptop-pc-16-r0000/2101566692/doc...  🤔

Hi. In the link it says i7 13700hx and i5 13500hx have 2 ssd. The thing i not understand is only 13700hx and 13500hx series have 2 slots or all the r-0000 series have 2 slots but only i7 13700hx and i5 13500hx are integrated with 2 seperate ssd?

Good question.

Yes, each CPU has a different motherboard, so it would be possible for only these two CPUs to have dual storage. Not logical though. Dual storage is for all these systems, but HP only sells the top CPUs with dualSSD configs (probably RAID).

It's still very early to be 1000% sure about anything, but based on previous models, the datasheet and the HP video, I'd say all of them have 2 SSD slots. However, I HAVE seen this Q&A on https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/victus-by-hp-gaming-laptop-16t-r000-156-7n4k9av-1#questions:

  • Does this laptop have m.2 ssd slots? If so how many and what capacity ssd can it take ?
  • HP Team Grant
No, this Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 16t-r000 does not have a second SSD slot.

I'm guessing that this is a mistake (as usual).......

I understood that victus 15 series have one slot according to ssd, ram upgrade videos on youtube and i also saw that previous 16 series have 2 slots but this r-xxx series are new and one youtuber said it has only one slot and i couldn't make sure all r-xxx series have 2 slots. The problem is my laptop is on delivery and i will return it if it has one slot because it's 512gb and in the future it will be insufficient.

I agree, the information is (at best) contradictory. But all information available seems to point towards there being 2 slots. Is it possible there is only one? YES. I would do exactly as you are doing. Get it -open it -return it if it isn't satisfactory. We can only make our decisions based on the information available to us at that time. Right? Hopefully there will be an option for a second drive as expected. Inş
