Try these steps:

Power Cycle: Shut down the computer completely and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes before plugging it back in and powering it on.

Clean the Air Vents: Dust and debris can accumulate inside your computer, blocking the airflow. Use compressed air to clean the air vents and fans. This might improve the fan’s performance if dust is the cause of the problem.

Check Fan Functionality: If you're comfortable doing so, check if the fan is running correctly when the computer is on. Sometimes, the fan might be clogged or stuck, preventing it from cooling the system effectively.

BIOS Update: Ensure that your BIOS is up-to-date. HP frequently releases updates that can help with hardware compatibility and performance. You can download updates from the HP website or use the HP Support Assistant tool.
