That turns off Windows notifications, not notifications within the HP Support Assistant app.

I like to have the HP Support Assistant icon pinned to my task bar, because it shows notifications of urgent updates. The notification of a battery calibration that isn't needed shows on the icon as a little envelope (see screenshot). I'd like that little envelope to go away for the battery calibration message, so I can tell when I get a new alert.

I did turn off Windows notifications for the HP Support Assistant app and rebooted my laptop, but as you can see from attached screenshot I am still getting the little envelope on the icon in the taskbar, because of the (erroneous) battery calibration message.

I did not do Steps 2-8 because I've already checked the battery (the process where it's checked when the laptop is turned on), and that report said the battery is fine and does not need calibration.

I did try completely uninstalling the HP Support Assistant, including telling it not to save any of my settings, and reinstalled it. Still get that annoying pop-up.

Since nothing is wrong with the battery, I'm now agreeing with you that there's some bug in HP Support Assistant, and I'm just going to live with it. I've removed HP Support Assistant from my taskbar, and I'll try toremember to check it every so often to see if there are any urgent updates.

Unfortunately, I can't accept your latest response as a solution, because we never did solve my problem--making a notification of a non-existent problem go away. But I am very grateful for all the time you've put into this! At least I know that the battery IS working correctly and does not need calibration.

The solution is to contact HP Support and report the bug.

HP Diagnostics UEFI battery check: OK

HP Support Assistant Version x.x.xxx: NOT OK

Good luck
