Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have all the updates done for the BIOS (and for other devices as well) that HP Support center provides for me and still I can´t find in BIOS any sign of secure erase option. Based on this article https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06204100 I would have guessed that in my BIOS there should be a secure erase option available (laptop is approximately 2.5years old). So my question is what should I do to get that secure erase option for my BIOS or how should I do secure erase for my SSD drive?

@jucaa

I believe this option is available for business machines, not on consumer machines. Please try the following free software

Thank you for the tip, I think you are right that most likely because I have the consumer model laptop I don't have secure erase option shown in the BIOS setup.

But I think that the software you suggested is not optimal for SSD drive because of the method it's using for data wiping (either Filling sectors with binary values or using DoD 5220.22-M to write data to SSD etc.) instead I think I should some software that is described in this article http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA7-2608ENW.pdf that uses some other methods (BLOCK ERASE etc.) to securely delete all information from SSD drive. Need to continue looking for this kind of software if HP doesn't have it to share with consumer model laptops.

nothing wrong with dban except the site seems to have been taken down. You can still find the software out there however.
