I bought HP Spectre x360 - 13t-4100 CTO (ENERGY STAR) on September 18, 2016 and bought a stylus pen with it. The pen they said will compatible and recommended add in when I purchase. Im so busy I forgot to try the pen on right away. But the time I try on isn't working, so I think the pen might be decent, then I returned and ordered new pen. But still not working. I contract supporter they can't fix it either and told me to try like 4 other pens they maybe. So I end up bought almost all the model of HP stylus pen with a little hope. And after a weeks later the technician told me that my laptop not compatible with hp stylus. Seriously? So why reccomended to add the pen when we purchase the laptop. Finally I just wanna return the laptop but they refused. I mean its little over 30 days couple days because I have to wait for other pen arrived but I still have 1 year warranty and they can't fix the issue but won't let me return. Im so mad why they said in the information laptop compatible with stylus and buyer will able to take note and stuff but nothing work. It's been 2 years and still no stylus work with that laptop 😤 I still try order some new stylus and from other brand. Hope will find something work. I spend $1800 on that useless laptop because I think I can take note or maybe sketching. Im gonna sell that laptop and never buy anything from hp again. Bad customer service.

I also had a Spectre 13-4100 series laptop and it absolutely has an active pen that works with it.
Whats going on with yours is very strange and sounds more like a hardware issue of some sort.
This is the pen I have and its listed in the pen list that Jeet linked to, so I dont know why he says there is no pen option.
Note that there is a pull tab on them that must be removed for the battery to work.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I see from your post you need information regarding the stylus for your HP notebook. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.
I did go through the Maintenance and Service guide for your PC and did not find any information about the support for Active stylus, . Here's a the link: HP PCs - Touchscreen Compatibility with Pen and Stylus
That said, you can always get a passive stylus as it works on any touchscreen device regardless of its brand or model,
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

Photoray is right. Not sure where you live but Best Buy in US has them. Several HP sales sites have them. Also on Amazon. If this is not what you purchased - this is the only one that works.
