HP Laptop 17-cn0xxx

can not transfer files from laptop to external hard drive.

Laptop recognizes Seagate hard drive. When pasting files to HD I get and error message saying, " There is not enough space on folder name. You need an additional 31.1GB to copy these files. It thinks my external HD is the laptop that its connected to .

You do not have enough space on your laptop to for windows to cache the files.

Windows caches files before doing the transfer.

use robocopy with the option "/J"

Or just move some smaller files to the external storage before doing the larger files.
