My touchscreen and wireless mouse through USB port not working. System shows the drivers are missing. Cannot locate drivers on web search or any HP updates. Have had 2 techs thru Geek Squard looking at computer and cannot find any solutions.

Thank you!! This fixed it for me and was definitely the cause of the problem. I acutally ended up following the Microsoft fix, which I'd seen this one first.

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to find the drivers for the touchscreen and the USB receiver.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the computer was working fine?
- What is the exact model for your computer?
- What is the exact issue you are facing?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
Meanwhile, I would like to inform you that both the USB receiver and touchscreen use Windows built-in drivers.
I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

This same exact thing happened to me this morning. My drivers are missing. I've already been through all of the touchscreen and wireless keyboard troubleshooting - those pages are not helpful. Can you, HP, please provide a link to download these drivers manually? Thank you!

Thank you so much for sending this advice. I don't know if these worked for the original forum poster, but unfortuantely for me, this did not fix the problem. I spent most of yesterday re-downloading all drivers related to my laptop model from the HP site. I've run both HP and Windows updates and they had nothing. The touchscreen and USB receiver drivers are still missing. Please see screenshot below. When I disable, or uninstall, the HP support cannot find the correct drivers and relinks it back to this missing status. I assume the drivers are still somewhere on my computer, but the connection is missing. Any idea what their filename is or location?

I too am having the same problem with my touchscreen. I've followed the steps you provide but it doesn't work. The update KB4074588 was not installed anyway.
I have an HP ay127ca notebook
HP hasn't replied to my requests despite ticket #'s being issued when I did request help (twice).
When I go to the HP site to download drivers there is nothing there for a touchscreen. I do know it works because I've checked it with the diagnostics and it works there, but not when I boot up normally.

I have the same problem. When I go to device manager under "Other Devices" there is nothing there for touchscreen. However their is one device labelled: Detection Verification. It has a yellow label on it and if I delete that device and restart it reappears the same way.
