My laptop has a similar crack to the one shown in the attached image but worse. This issue is making closing the screen almost impossible, and I am afraid that it will eventually damage the motherboard. Unfortunately, this line of laptops has been flimsy and had other issues with the hinges, and what is more disappointing is HP dropping the support for critical replacement parts.
My replacement part is 862973-001 and literally I cannot find it available anywhere! Plus it was unfortunate to learn that the top part comes as one unit (Palmrest, Keyboard, and touchpad) which makes customers' chances scarce.
My question at this point is, what are the alternatives? For example, is there any other OMEN model that uses a similar top, maybe with a different part#, and could possibly fit my model?
