Common problems for Battery

I am trying to dowload drivers for my Spectre x360 laptop. After my product is correctly autodetected, I then select it, and instead of bringing me to the drivers download page I am redirected back to the main page. It's a constant loop and I never get to the drivers download screen. Also I created an account and tried to add my device to my dashboard, but after autodetecting it, and getting a message that the product was added to my dashboard, it is not there.

I have tried this with Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Firefox all the same results.

There was one link that did the same to me as it did to you, but this driver page works for me...

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

Use this guide to find that information:

That link you provided gets me a bit further but now a different error message.

If I choose to allow it to run the detection, then offers a link to download drivers, then I get a message that says "The PC you are currently using does not match the PC you have selected. To detect drivers for the PC you have selected, initiate detection from that PC or click on “All Drivers” below and download the drivers you need."

In other words, the auto-detection somehow did not detect the correct product?

At least I can manually download and install the drivers but because I had to select "All Drivers" there are lots of them and it's going to be a rather tedious process to try each and every one. Several of the devices on my computer with warning symbols about "driver not installed" are not identified specifically so its impossible to know which drivers to try.

But that link was somewhat helpful and got me further. Thanks.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I can't help you with the auto detection part of the driver page not working.

I never have used that feature before.

When I install drivers, I select the base version of the operating system, in the case of your notebook, W10 64 bit, and then I install the most recent version of the driver listed under the section for the drivers I want.

That way I am sure to get every driver that is posted on the support page for all the releases of W10.

For the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers, I always seek to find the latest drivers HP has available from their newer model notebooks.

If your notebook has an Intel Wi-Fi adapter, you can use the latest drivers from the Intel website which are more than 2 years newer than what is on the support page.

I tried several drivers, as I'm running Windows 11 (that was on this laptop when purchased), I'm finding most aren't compatible with this operating system. But a couple, with more recent updates seemed to fix a few of the warnings in Device Manager.

But you did get me past that error message.

Thanks I'll go ahead and mark your answer as an acceptable solution.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

If you post the names and hardware IDs of any remaining devices needing drivers, I will see if I can find drivers that may work.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device:

I was able to find drivers for the devices that I couldn't update via the link you provided, by running Windows Update, and selecting "Advanced Options-> install Optional Updates. When I clicked on that, there were about a 1/2 dozen drivers ready to be updated on my system. I wasn't aware of this option until I did more research, you'd think they would make it more intuitive or automatic to update necessary system drivers.

Yes, W11 has driver updates under the advanced options where W10 had them on the main update page.

I stumbled upon that difference after W11 first came out, so I check that advanced section at least weekly.
