Hi,
I have followed the maintenance manual for hp 250 g6 i5 to remove the case.

The case has released all the way around the edge.
However the case refuses to come away from the computer toward the middle of the unit.

Does this model have any extra fixings or anything else to cause this problem?

Thanks

I agree with @Huffer Probably one screw still in the case. On some models there is even one under a lable right off center. I believe the model in the video I posted shows where that screw is. Maybe check for that on yours.

You pulled 9 screws and the optical drive? That makes 10 screws in all and the one holding the optical drive in place is right in the middle of the back

Thanks for the quick reply.
There is no optical on this model and i have removed 9 screws including the one from the centre.

Thanks

If there is one in the center there should be 10 in all. Do an audit and close comparison to the pictures in the manual.

es sorry i count ten removed.

Then there is no reason it will not come off. Sometimes it takes a little effort although I absolutely do not want to encourage you to break it. This is one of those times remote help is not going to be very helpful I am afraid. Even a picture can't do much for us.

Yes i am trying not to break anything.

Thanks for the support, i will try again.

Should the worst hapoen, where can i purchase a replacement case in the UK?

@D1998

Have you tried a prying tool to work around the edges? Even a credit card will work.

I can't find a video on your model but the 250 G5 video shows prying the case.

No i haven't but will do. The edge is released all the way around but for some reason the middle refuses to come free. All srews are removed.

Thanks

Watch the video on a similar model to see how prying it works:
