I'm not sure if i'm posting this is the right board. If not, can someone tell me which board i should post in.
I have a new HP Pavilion laptop core 5, 10th generation and an old Canon Imageclass M4150 printer. The printer works find with my old Dell laptop but it does not with my new one. When i request something to print, I get the following error message:
"Printer in an error state
'Canon MF4100 Series URFII LT' in in an error state.
It doesnt give any more information *(e.g. error # or anything)
It's hooked up to my lap top via a USB cable.
I've downloaded new drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled them a couple of times to no avail.
I'm running windows 10 home 64 with the latest update.
Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong? I've chatted with Canon and since it works fine on another laptop, they seem to think it is something with my new HP Pavilion.
All help is appreciated.
Thanks again for your help.

Sorry, you need to ask Canon. My suggestion
(a) Download driver from the following link and save on your computer
https://www.canon.com.au/laser-printers/imageclass-mf4150/support
(b) Right click downloaded file and select run as administrator,
(c) Select wifi (if available) or USB
(d) Plug USB cable in
(d) Follow on screen instructions
If NO good, please ask Canon using
https://www.canon.com.au/laser-printers/imageclass-mf4150/support
Regards.

I have already talked/chatted with Canon. Their take on it is that since it works with my older laptop, it is a HP problem.
Plus i have already removed the existing driver and downloaded a new driver from Canon.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

This may help:
Once i remove the printer via Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Device and printers, and go into Microsoft Word, PPT or Excel and try to add a printer from the Print Dialog box, i get the error message "The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable.
I can, however, add the printer driver directly by using the downloaded driver.
Hope this helps.
Thanks again for your assistance.
