Hi @Aishwarya_3656,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The white light near the charging port on your HP laptop usually indicates that the battery is charging and has reached a certain level (often above 90%), but in your case, it’s stuck at 45%. This suggests the battery may not be charging fully, or the charging circuit is limiting it.

Steps to Resolve

Battery Health Check

Open HP Support Assistant → Battery Check to see if the battery is weak or degraded.

Power Reset  HP Support Assistant | HP® Support.

Shut down the laptop, unplug the charger, hold the power button for 30 seconds, then reconnect and try charging again.

Update BIOS & Drivers

Go to Official HP® Support, enter your model, and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers.

Try Another Charger

If possible, test with a different HP‑compatible adapter to rule out charger issues.

Battery Calibration

Let the battery drain fully, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. Sometimes this resets the charging logic.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
