I have this strange problem recently. So, when I plug the charging cable to my laptop, it starts charging the battery the as usual (orange light). But after some time, it stops charging and also the charging icon disappears. And, now the light turns to white.

Then, again it starts charging the battery (orange light), and it repeats. I've checked this same thing happened with other charging Adapter and power cord too. So, I don't think there is a problem with the charger. Moreover, the LED light is also on but show white and the charging icon disappears.

I also created a Battery Report using Windows 10, and it shows the laptop is being powered using Battery and AC power frequently, although the laptop was plugged for the whole duration.

@kdb13

This is not good -- as I recently ran into a very similar situation with an HP All-in-One and had to restore it to an older Win10 version to get it working right again.

So, need to know the version and build of Win10 you are using.  To get this info, enter "winver" (without the quotes) in the Search area and report back here what it says.

I am using Windows 10 20H2.

OS Build: 19042.685

I haven't done a major Windows update in a while, and I had replaced my battery a month ago. The problem wasn't there when I replaced the battery and it also passed the test in HP Battery Check.

Maybe the problem might be due to the battery. But the Battery Check is showing OK.
