Turns out the leads i was using got swaped around i was trying to use the lead that came with my Huawei p20 pro i tryed a basic lead with a usb micro to usb c converter on and it still works not sure why the p20 pro lead is unpopular with the laptop though but tryed a few more type c leads i had about and all worked all though they were only usb 2 leads the Huawei lead is a proper usb 3 usb c lead as far as i can tell maby thats what makes the difference??

Hello @Yioob,
By lead, are you referring to the cable or...
Anyway, firstly thank you for confirming the possibility of USB-C charging on this barrel charging-port laptop as I was still a bit unsure myself.
Also, are you using the same AC adapters?
Kind regards,
Eddy

Hi
Yes i mean usb cable dont use the Huawie supercharger lead as that dose not work lol
I still dont know why maby a converter in the cables plugs??
I have tested it with all my chargers and standard leads even a usb 3 to c lead and a car charger all ok.
Only thing i will add is it will only charge in off mode and wont charge at all when its running i dont mind as i trickle charge it over night with my phones.
Not sure if one of the larger spec 100w perpose built laptop chargers will work with it running but i dont have £50 laying around to find out when the laptop came with a perfectly good charger 🙂 the ability to charge with the c port is still very useful for car charging instead of having to set up the inverter and power lead
And leaving over night to charge with the phone.

Hello @Yioob,
Sorry, I'm still having some trouble understanding the issue, but yes, a higher AC adapter will most likely solve your issue of only being able to charge the device when it's off. This is also the case for me. I have a powerbank and a USB-C cable that I can use to charge my laptop during desperate times and this is only when it's off due to the fact that the max output of the powerbank is 24W whereas the included Spectre 13 charger is rated at 45-60W.
Kind regards,
Eddy
