I want to buy a UCB-C / Thunderbolt charger wit Power Delivery technology.
Most powerful charger I found was 75Wats. Is it enough to charge slowly my laptop ?
Thanks for Your help.

You stated that you have a Zbook 15G4 and Zbook 15G5.
Which one do you have?
Was your notebook delivered with a power adapter that has a USB Type-C connector?
The ZBook 15 G5 is delivered with a normal power adapter that plugs into a port on the workstation. Use only the normal power adapter or risk damaging your workstation.
The ZBook 15 G4 is delivered with a normal power adapter that plugs into a port on the workstation. Use only the normal power adapter or risk damaging your workstation.
The Thunderbolt port is power output, not input!

My charger has the standard plug, not USB-c.
I addressed the 15 G5 in my last post. The same warning applies to both.
If you value your expensive workstation and do not want to damage it, use the original charger with its standard plug.
Do not use a USB power adapter!

Sorry, but You are wrong.
Thunderbolt socket could be used as a charging port. Standard HP dock station like HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 230W 2UK38AA use a usb-c cable to delivery even 230W of power.
My question was different, if You dont know the answer, please dont take a part of this discussion.
Cheers.

That was your question. There was no mention of a docking station and I did give an accurate answer to your question. You just did not like the answer for some reason or other.

My answer is that it is not a good idea and I gave the reason that HP prefers.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but what I have recommended happens to be a subject that other experts and I have discussed with actual HP representatives in a part of the forum that you do not have access to. It is called the Inner Circle.
Forum Experts have access to HP Employee product subject matter experts. They are the very same experts we meet at the HP Expert Meetups every year.
In short, if you do as you want to it, is OK. You own the product and it is your money.
Just don't try to use your warranty when your attempt to charge the notebook battery with a method and power adapter other than it was delivered with results in damage to the expensive ZBook mobile workstation.
The damage to the notebook will be considered Customer induced damage and the warranty claim will be denied.
When anyone gives you an answer you don't like, try harder to be more civil that you were in your last post. I was and am being quite civil with you in this discourse. You and I did agree to the rules of participation when we joined the forum

Hi
I simply tell You, that You are wrong. I don’t have any hidden agenda to offense You or “to burst your bubble”. I read in tech spec of my laptop that Thunderbolts socket supports PowerDelivery protocol. If I found a charger with the same output power like my power supply, the problem was solved when it appears. I want to know, if I supply lower output power to the Thunderbolt socket, charging process start but slower than with my standard charger or it wont charge anything.
Docking station, I meant do the job with single thunderbolt socket.
Thanks for Your help.
I’ll try to solve this problem/question somehow other way.

I can understand your frustration with my answer. I certainly don't think you have a hidden agenda regarding this.
I am just providing you with the answer to the question that HP recommends us to provide. It is your notebook and charging it via the thunderbolt port may very well work. I do suggest that you make your own choice.

I talk to my local support. They confirmed that Thunderbolt sockets could be used for charging the laptop. But the minimal power of that charger is 150W, and the strongest available right now charger has only less than 90W.
Charging is possible with right usb-c charger with PowerDelivery protocol.
This is end of this discussion.

Thought you'd like to know that my company issued me a zBook15 G5 as my work laptop. The laptop came with an HP Travel Power Adapter for USB-C charging and is rated at 65W. Here's a link to the adapter on CDW's website. So yes, you can charge the laptop with a USB-C adapter at 65W. Not sure if it will work with higher wattage adapters.
