I have a HP X360 14c-cc0004NA i5 Chromebook that has had sudden drops in battery %
It has happened 4 or 5 times mainly watching Amazon Prime Video on the App, can be watching a video for a couple of hours and then the App suddenly closes.
Checking the battery status it shows 1% remaining but after a few seconds it returns to the level I would have normally expected for the time used on battery.
Up to last night I was blaming the Prime Video App but it then happened while streaming a video on the Kodi App. After watching Video for about an hour and a half it suddenly closed and the battery showed 1% but returned to 35% a few seconds later.
So far it has only happened on two Apps, have been general browsing on Chrome for hours and never had this problem also checked the battery on diagnostics and it passes okay.

Hi @Jayca,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing a battery issue with your HP X360 14c-cc0004NA i5 Chromebook. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Update Chrome OS:
- Turn on your Chromebook.
- Connect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi.
- At the bottom right, select the time
Settings
.
- At the bottom left, select About ChromeOS.
- Under "Google ChromeOS," you'll find which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses.
- Select Check for updates.
- If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.
If the issue persists, then please follow the steps mentioned in this document: HP Notebook PCs - Battery does not power notebook or hold a charge
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi,
Sorry but you have lost me by explaining what to do with a printer ?
This problem has nothing to do with any printer, it seems to be a sudden drop in battery % that only happens while watching a video.
The Chrome OS is the latest (Version 105.0.5195.134 (Official Build) (64-bit))
Battery Health is 96%, Cycle Count only 37 and passes battery discharge test okay.
It happened again two nights ago while watching a streamed video on battery.
Battery had about 40% charge left when the App suddenly closed, the battery % dropped to 1% but then recovered to 40% shortly after.
I am not sure if it's hardware related or software related as I can browse the web all night without a problem. only watching a video stream causes it.
Hope to catch it next time and at least have video evidence of the battery drop and recovery happening.
My first problem before this is to correct the wrong warranty expiration date, down as August 2022 when I bought Chromebook January 2022.
Put details in Twitter DM that warranty should end January 2023 as no option to dispute it online, now waiting for reply.
" Now understand why you started by mentioning a printer as see by your profile you had been replying to numerous other posts about printer problems, no sorry this isn't 🖨 related problem its a 💻/🎥 problem 😁"
