I'd still rather clean install windows. There's a lot of rubbish on there at the moment, and yes I could uninstall, but I'd rather every piece of HP software is off so I know exatly what's on there.

I would hope W10 would install the most up to date drivers automatically.

I'm also a bit confused as I thought all USB 3 ports had a blue bit inside... on my new laptop, the USB ports are all black, but there should be a USB 3..

Do I download everything for the drivers? There's like, 6 downloads for the chipset?

HP Recommended

No only the most recent version. I know it is confusing but people wonder why a computer shop charges $100 to reload an OS...it takes a little knowledge and experience. If you can just get the network going and HP Support Assistant it will install just what you need.

There's lots in each section though... so I may need 2 from each section, i.e. wifi and bt.

HP Recommended

Yes wifi and BT will be under networking and you need one of each...same with chipset....there will be the actual chipset driver and then a couple assorted drivers like maybe usb 3.0...you say your usb ports are all black inside....does any have the SS witth the lightning bolt next to it? That is the other indicator of usb 3. Basically you need one driver with each of the titles and pick the one with the latest release date.

Thanks everyone. Fresh installed and W10 installed all the drivers just fine.

Thanks

In the chipset section, there are 6 downlaods. Do I download and install all 6?
HP Recommended

5 out of the 6. Only the later Management Engine Interface.
