Hello HP community.
So I reinstalled Windows 10 v1809 on my 2018 Spectre x360 13 and the Synaptics Clickpad stopped working. I can only left/right click. No gestures, no tapping, no scrolling and no pointing. Basically unusable as a Touchpad.
Device Manager
Device manager shows two mice connected while I only had the Touchpad and the Touchscreen available to interact with the PC ( strange ). Anyway here are the driver details:
Synaptics Clickpad Properties - Driver
Mouse properties should allow me to change the Touchpad properties but the Clickpad settings were all disabled.
Mouse settings - Clickpad
I used the HP Support Assistant to install all the drivers after my fresh Windows install erased them all... Now fingerprint, accelerometer and other sensors work, except for the TouchPad.
Since the Support Assistant was not successful I manually downloaded the driver from the HP website:
Synaptics Driver.exe
I ran the executable and restarted the PC but nothing changed.
As the next screenshots show, everything seems to be up to date.

Windows Update
Here is a screenshot from the HP PC Hardware Diagnosis tool. In case you need additional system information:

I also used the tool to execute all the hardware tests possible, here are the logs:
Test Logs
I obviously have an external mouse to attatch in case of need but for the touchpad test I unplugged it.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Yeah so I tried with another operating system to see if the touchpad has a hardware issue.
Everything works great, the clickpad is recognised and the buttons work.
I returned to Windows and tried to troubleshoot again. Turns out the HP Assistant failed to install the driver and I downloaded the wrong one from their website (very tricky to understand wich one to use). I downloaded the one below (an older version from the looks of it), uninstalled the current driver, restarted, installed the newly downloaded driver and restarted again 😪.
Good old synaptics driver
It worked. In case someone else is wondering this is the right one to use.
There are 3 drivers available!!
HP should remove useless or buggy drivers. One might see a higher version number for the same driver name and think that's the right one to choose.

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,
As you have performed all possible troubleshootings steps as well as you have run the test which has failed with an failure code: 0QAFLX-97K9KJ-MFPW2J-G1XB13
After decoding the error it shows it could be a possible hardware failure with the Mouse button. In this scenario, I would recommend you contact our HP support team for further assistance.
HP Support team can be reached on https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
I'm sure they should be able to go ahead and address your issue. Let me know if you need any further assistance.
That said, If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Have a great day!
